3 John - session 1

This letter was written to Gaius, a dear friend of John's. He was joyful to hear of all the good that Gaius was doing. He encouraged Believers to be hospitable to those who went out and about for the sake of the Lord. He wrote about Diotrephes, a man who was a troublemaker in the church. He was someone who did not respect the authority of John, who by then was the elder and well known church leader. What was John's advice?
. . . do not imitate evil, but do what is good. (3 John 1:11)
Just as he wrote to the Lady of the "elect", he closed by saying he hoped to see them soon, when they could discuss Church matters more effectively. I wish I could have been a "fly on the wall" for that!
God bless!
