The Holy Spirit
I have come to give you life, and life it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
Listening to an old tape by The Reverand Terry Fullam. I picked up on something new, even hearing this umpteen times! His theory--which backs up well, especially with Paul's conversion and anointing--is this:
We all receive the Holy Spirit when baptized as Believers . . . but it "has no where to go". It gets bottled up inside of us. The anointing (as Ananias did for Paul) releases the Spirit so that it over-flows from us.

Terry always sights what John the Baptist said, "There is one that Baptizes with the Holy Spirit." I am delighted to tell you that that is what I seemed to experience when I was twelve years old, on the train back from Fort Worth with Daddy and my sister. I knew I felt different, and was able to withstand so much easier, with more understanding of the "usual" from my family. This included Mother's coldness. She thought affection showed weakness, read it in a book, I think from Merry Old England probably, a la the Queens with stiff upper lips. She explained that to me when I asked her as a mother myself. Especially hard was my sister's jealousy (the only way we became friends was my leading of the Holy Spirit).
Well . . . it's always fun to look back and see how the Lord affects one's life. The same with you, I'm sure!

So what Terry says seems believable. I look around and see Christians who seem to have something bottled up inside of them. Sometimes it seems like anger or frustration. I think for me it was fear. Terry doesn't believe that the Baptism of the Spirit is related to "prophecy" or "tongues" although it can be in some cases. It's just a release of the Spirit so that we can express God's love out in the world. I distinctly remembered that that was how I felt. From time to time even now, I get that buoyed up feeling, and seem to have more love to express. That probably is the result that comes because I am filled to over-flowing. I would be happy to characterize this experience as the effect of the Abundant Life! Any comments from anyone? Please let us know!
Sincerely,
IN HIS WILL,
Jean
