Let's expand our understanding of Jesus and His Truth. Each session is presented on two levels: more and much more. If you have decided to try level two, please read level one as well, with your Bible handy.
When something outstanding happens, something so amazing, there is much talk about it! That's why the events of the life of Jesus were told and retold many times. Finally someone wrote down some of them. Originally, there was one document called the "Q." Much of this was recorded in the books of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Later, the "Q." was lost, so we do not have that as a reference.

Many authors are not sure who wrote these books yet:
Matthew
One of Jesus' disciples, was thought to have written this book. He had a firm, Old Testament outlook on these events.
Mark
Thought to be the author who wrote down what Peter told him. Peter was a disciple.
Luke
Thought to be the author, who also wrote the book "The Acts of the Apostles". Luke was a medical doctor, and a close friend of St. Paul. He wrote of Paul's ministry in "Acts".
John
Thought to be the author, for he was the "beloved disciple" of Jesus. Much of
his remembrance brings a refreshing "look" into the character of Jesus.

Many beginners, just starting to read the Bible, seem to want to look for "proof". One often hears them say, "Now, let's just get the facts straight." As you read more of Scripture, you will realize there is something more! Let's "open the door" to that something more! Rather than an attempt to teach head knowledge, Scripture was inspired and written to express the heart of the matter.
If you have decided to try level two, please try to read the first three chapters of the book of St. Mark. Aw, come on, you can do it!!
