Jude - session 1
Jude, along with James, had been mentioned as being of the household of our Lord. They could have been Jesus' brothers, or cousins. Jude was concerned about the problem of the Gnostics.
They are godless men who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ, our only Sovereign and Lord. (Jude 1:4)
These men are grumblers and faultfinders who follow their own evil desires. They boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage. (Jude 1:16)

These people were creating havoc within the church. This reminded many of the prophecy, predicting what would happen at the end of the age. An interesting verse characterizes the human tendency to "speak abusively against whatever they do not understand and the things they understand by natural instinct [not Spiritual] are the very things that destroy them"
(Jude 1:10).
